Monthly Meetings

MWBA Meets on the 1st Wednesday of Each Month

For 2026, those dates are: January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1 (how appropriate!), May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7, November 4 and December 2.

Our meetings begin at 8:00 a.m., at Denny's Restaurant, 2525 W Deer Valley Rd, Phoenix, AZ. Many Members come 60-90 minutes early to enjoy breakfast and chatter. The agenda typically includes: Brief words of wisdom from the President, “Welcome, New Members,” the Treasurer’s Report on MWBA Solvency, our most recent Tournament Results (winners receive checks for the Tmx and cash from the Side Pot), the next Tournament (e.g. location, launching and weigh-in information and initial pairings), a 50:50 Cash Pot and a raffle of Member-donated items (tickets are 6 for $5).

Our meetings rarely go beyond 9:00 a.m.

Regarding the raffle — Everyone is encouraged to donate items. They need not be fishing-related, but they must be in good condition. Proceeds help underwrite the cost of annual membership. So, please check your boat, garage and storage unit(s). Surely you have extra Banjo Minnows, Helicopter Lures and Walking Worms. Maybe even a new trolling motor with SpotLock and all the trimmings?

Think of the collateral benefit of donating items. The more old stuff you donate, the more room you have for new stuff you desperately need. Or think you need. And the Club benefits. It’s a win-win situation.
