Monthly Meetings

MWBA Meets on the 1st Wednesday of Each Month

For 2026, the dates are: January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7, November 4 and December 2.

Some Members consistently come 60-90 minutes early to enjoy breakfast, chatter and buy raffle tickets. The meetings rarely go beyond 9:00 a.m.

Monthly meetings begin at 0800 sharp-ish, at Denny's Restaurant, 2525 W Deer Valley Rd, Phoenix, AZ. The agenda typically includes: President’s Greeting; “Welcome, New Members;” Treasurer’s Report; Tournament news (e.g. Results & Payouts for the most recent tmx and details about the next one (e.g. location, launch ramp, weigh-in process/location, Initial Pairings); payout for a 50:50 Cash Pot; and results for a raffle of Member-donated items. Raffle tickets are 6 for $5, including entry in the Cash Pot.

July thru November meeting topics might include next year’s Tournament Schedule, Tournament Rules, By-Laws, Officer Elections and other issues that aren’t routinely covered in monthly meetings.

Regarding the Monthly Raffle—Everyone is encouraged to donate items that need not be fishing-related but must be in good condition. The Club retains half of the raffle proceeds to help cover Club expenses, which keeps your annual dues as low as possible. So, check your boat, garage, storage lockers, tackle store bargain bins and your co-angler’s boat and truck. Surely you can find something worth donating.
