Tournaments: AOY Points

Angler of the Year Points

Our "Angler of the Year" (AOY) points system is an important element of our Tournaments. It recognizes excellent fishing performance over the course of a Tournament Year.

Anglers earn AOY points based on their Tournament results. At the end of the year, the angler with the highest number of accumulated points (after dropping their two lower scores) earns the prestigious title of "Angler of the Year. We also give awards to the Top 3 Boaters and Top 3 Co-Anglers of the Year, and to the angler who caught the Lunker of the Year.

All the awards are hotly contested, from the first AOY Points Tournament of the year (January) through the last one of the year (November). Then we put our struggles behind us with the Grudge Match in December, salute the winners and start planning how to win an award next year.
